Myanmar Sights
Adventure Destinations
Northern Myanmar:
at the feet of the Himalaya is the perfect
destination for short and long trekking tours through rough mountain
terrain and local villages with different ethnic tribes. The
mountains around Putao also inhabit a lot of seldom species of wild
animals and birds, which makes it very attractive for bird watchers.
At present this area, contains one of the last great areas of
subtropical and montane rainforest in the Himalayas, and is home to
both Lisu and Rawang hill tribes.

Coming end of
2005 we will be able to offer multi day rafting expeditions on the
headwaters of the Ayeryarwaddy River to the North of Putao, as well
as a variety of day excursions by raft, kayak, mountain bike or on
foot.
Please take a look for detailed
information.
Mergui Archipelago :
in the very south of Myanmar is one of the last
untouched diving spots in the world. Its area is covering of over
ten thousand square miles and has over eight hundred tropical
islands. It has just been lately reopened and rediscovered as one of
“the” diving spots in South East Asia. It is impossible to put into
words the stunning beauty of the Mergui or Myeik Archipelago, which
area is still pristine and nearly virtually uninhabited.
We are happy to
offer diving trips from Kawthong in Myanmar or even from Phuket in
Thailand. The combination of diving, sailing and relaxing onboard a
high quality sailing yacht, whilst being pampered by a professional
crew, is a great experience. There are four types of diving
environments in the archipelago: shallow, inshore fringing island
reefs where visibility is often poor but the diversity of marine
life is unsurpassed; offshore fringing reefs where the visibility is
considerably better, and the coral is much healthier; pinnacles and
small rocky islands which rise from the depths and attract larger
marine life such as sharks and rays; and banks which rise up from
depths of over 300-meters and attract different types of marine life
altogether. All in all, the Mergui Archipelago contains some of the
most diverse and interesting marine ecosystems in the world.
Next to Diving
visitors to the Mergui Archipelago can also choose to book:
- Adventure
Tours, which are a combination of sailing, explorations with sea
kayaks, snorkeling and diving. It is a wonderful possibility to
visit remote, unspoiled sea and tropical islands.
- Kayak-Tours,
which explore the many bays, coves, inlets and tidal rivers by
kayak. This is the perfect way to enjoy the wild, unspoiled beauty
of one of the last places on earth, which remains as it was probably
hundreds of years ago.
