Honeymoon
In Vietnam - (15 days / 14 nights)
Day
1: Transfer to hotel on arrival. In the evening, enjoy a
water puppet show - a remarkable Vietnamese art form that combines
traditional music, fireworks, underwater puppeteers and elaborate
puppets floating gracefully over water.
Day
2: In the morning, drive to the magnificent Halong Bay, a
UNESCO designated World Heritage site. Here you will meet your own
personal crew who will pamper you on your junk cruise. Enjoy
amazing scenery as you meander the bay whilst your personal chef
prepares some of the world's finest seafood.
Day
3: Breakfast on board. Then continue to explore the caves
and grottoes. Enjoy a seafood lunch on board before transfer to
hotel.
Day
4: After breakfast, transfer by chauffer car back to Hanoi,
stop en route at the Dong Trieu ceramic factory. In the afternoon,
experience the exciting Hanoi tour by cyclo, a great way to see
this amazing city.
Day
5: After breakfast, visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi
Minh's former residence, the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of
Literature. In the afternoon, visit the Lake of Restored Sword,
the bustling Old Quarter, and a traditional Vietnamese long house.
Indulge in a traditional Vietnamese massage and learn the
technique to indulge your newly wed.
Day
6: Free at leisure until transfer to airport for flight to
Hue. Upon arrival, visit the Imperial Citadel. Check-in hotel.
Day
7: After breakfast, enjoy a morning boat cruise through the
center of Hue on the romantic Perfume River. Visit the seven-storey
Thien Mu Pagoda along the riverbank. Then transfer by car to visit
the elaborate tombs of Emperor Khai Dinh and Tu Duc. Stop en route
at local families to learn how Vietnam's famous conical hats and
colourful incense is made.
Day
8: After breakfast, transfer to Danang by car. The
three-hour drive along the coast, through emerald-green paddy
fields and over spectacular Hai Van Mountain pass, is itself a
trip highlight. Visit stone cutters at the Marble Mountains, famed
for being a Viet Cong hideout during the U.S.-Vietnam War. Upon
arrival in the ancient port town of Hoi An, transfer to hotel. The
rest of the day is free for rest or exploring of Hoi An.
Day
9: Take a walking tour of this quaint town, visiting
ancient merchants' houses, a Phuc Kien Temple, the 400-year-old
Japanese Covered Bridge, and the colourful riverside market.
Afternoon drive to visit a workshop where artisans make Hoi An's
famous lanterns. Guests learn how the lanterns are made then have
a chance to create their own lanterns, from designing the frame to
gluing the cloth. Finish the day with a sunset boat trip on the
Thu Bon river to Thanh Ha pottery village.
Day
10 : After breakfast, transfer to Danang airport for flight
to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. In the
afternoon, take a romantic cyclo tour around the city center (01
hour).
Day
11: After breakfast, drive to the extraordinary Cu Chi
tunnels, just outside Ho Chi Minh City. During the war for
independence, Viet Cong guerillas built the labyrinth of narrow
tunnels virtually underneath U.S. bases, using them to hide during
bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. Optional side trips
en route to Cu Chi include visits to see how rural people live and
work. View occupations such as nut farming, duck breeding, rice
farming and production of rice paper - a key ingredient in
Vietnamese cuisine. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon.
Day
12,13,14: After breakfast, drive to glorious beaches of
Phan Thiet. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. The rest of the day
is free for rest.
Day
fifteen: Return to Ho Chi Minh City to take departure
flight. End of services.
