Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Ho Chi Minh city
Arrival and welcome at the airport by our guide
and transfer to the hotel (15 kms / 30 minutes).
Check in at the hotel as you enjoy a welcome
cocktail. Free time until lunch at the hotel
restaurant. In the afternoon, set out on a city
tour of the former capital of French Indochina,
once known as Saigon. Historic landmarks include
the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame
Cathedral, the Reunification Palace, the War
Museum and the ethnic Chinese area of Cholon,
Thien Hau Pagoda, and Dong Khoi Street. Listen
to one of the city's best jazz bands as you
enjoy drinks at the restaurant where dinner is
served and savour the local cuisine of Saigon.
Overnight at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Hoi An
Transfer to the airport at 5:30 a.m. for the
flight to Danang. Welcome at the airport upon
landing at 7:40 a.m. and transfer to the hotel
in Hoi An for an additional breakfast if you are
still hungry. Set out to explore the quaint
cobblestone streets and unique architecture
which have made Hoi An a registered UNESCO World
Heritage site. Sites include the Japanese
Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and the Tan Ky and
Phuong Hung Chinese-style trading house. Enjoy
refreshments at a traditional Hoi An house
before lunch at a unique local restaurant. After
lunch, take advantage of leisure time to enjoy
the town's excellent shopping for tailor-made
clothes, antique ceramics objects and various
handicraft products. Next board a boat for a
relaxing three hour cruise up the river to the
beautiful Hoi An beach. Dinner at restaurant
and overnight at the hotel in Hoi An.(B)
Day 3: Hue – the imperial city
Breakfast at the hotel before an 8:00 a.m.
departure by a vehicle for the 120 km trip to
Hue. Ascend to the spectacular Hai Van Pass to
enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramas in
Vietnam as you look out over the central
coastline. After the pass, we will stop at the
quiet beach town of Lang Co for a rest or a walk
on the fine white sand. Reach the hotel in Hue
at 11:00 a.m. for check-in. After free time to
settle into your room, depart by cyclo (pedicab)
for a tour of the imperial city. Stop at an
exquisitely renovated garden house for a typical
Hue lunch. After lunch, you will cruise up the
peaceful Perfume River by sampan to visit Thien
Mu Pagoda and the tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty
Emperor Minh Mang before returning to the hotel
around 6:00 p.m. In the evening, transfer from
the hotel to Imperial Citadel, where a Royal
Dinner will be served complete with a special
performance of traditional music and dancing in
the courtyard. Overnight at the hotel.(B)
Day 4: Hanoi
Breakfast at the hotel before a 7:00 a.m.
transfer to the airport in Hue. Arrive in Hanoi
at 9:50 a.m., welcome and transfer to your hotel
for check-in (40 minutes/30 kilometers). Enjoy a
sightseeing tour of the charming colonial city
of Hanoi before lunch at a local restaurant. In
the afternoon, visit sites including the Fine
Art Museum, Ethnology Museum, Tran Quoc Pagoda,
Ngoc Son Pagoda and Hoan Kiem Lake. At the end
of the afternoon, climb into a cyclo (pedicab)
to explore the narrow streets of Hanoi's Old
Quarter and enjoy the diverse architecture. Back
to the hotel before dinner at a local restaurant
in Hanoi. In the gardens of a superb colonial
villa, the owner built a wooden pagoda
style-restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.(B)
Day 5: The village of Vinh Bao on the road to
Halong
Breakfast at the hotel before departing Hanoi by
coach to reach Vinh Bao, a typical Red River
Delta village. Stroll through the rice fields to
visit the typical houses that compose this small
village. A catered lunch will be served at the
village's main temple while you enjoy a water
puppet show specially performed by the local
villagers. After the performance, you will
proceed to Halong City where you will arrive at
the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight
at the hotel. (B)
Day 6: Halong bay
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the
pier where you will board superb Huong Hai
Junks. You will cruise the aquamarine waters of
Halong Bay for about
six hours on wooden junks. Lunch served on
boat, in the afternoon the cruise continues,
with ample time for a swim and relaxation on the
boat. Return to the pier at the end of the
afternoon for transfer back to the hotel.(B)
Day 7 : Depart Hanoi
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer back to
Hanoi in the morning, arriving around lunch
time, free time for last-minute shopping before
transfer to the airport for your flight home or
onto next destination.(B)
